We held an international symposium “International Conversations around Ideals of Public Participations”
On Saturday, March 13, 2021, the Public Participation Project held a Japan-Korea Joint Research Conference “Towards Building a Transborder Public Participation Framework: Using Nuclear Facilities as Subject Matter”
From the Project, Niigata University Professor TANAKA Yoshihiro, Niigata University Professor BABA Takeshi, and Research Fellow/Institute of Personal Data Research (Korea) KIM Kyoung-Duk gave research presentations, and Professor INAYOSHI Akira, Associate Professor of National Dong Hwa University (Taiwan) LAI Yusung, Associate Professor of Kurume University ZHOU Qian, and Assistant Professor of the University of Nagano MIYAMORI Seiji participated in discussions.
In addition, two experts from Japan and four experts from Korea participated as guests, among which four of them gave research presentations.
During the event, opinions were exchanged actively about topics such as legislative differences and ideals for international cooperation. After the discussions that continued well after the predetermined timeframe, a proposal on future joint research was published.
