Welcome to the website of the Asian Link Research Center (ARC), Niigata University!

Asia has nearly two-thirds of the world’s population, and accounts for nearly one-third of the world’s land area. On the other hand, Asia is a world full of diversity, where people of various cultures, languages, religions, and their own historical backgrounds live in a variety of natural environments. We focus on the academic insights that such diversity can provide, especially in areas and fields that have traditionally been regarded as comparatively minor, and promote advanced research projects in such areas and fields. Our Center continues to carry out international research activities that also places importance on the connections with people living in regions in Asia, including minorities and those living in remote areas, while collaborating with research institutions and the industrial sector in various Asian countries.
